According to IBM ‘s 2024 technology trends report, many businesses have recognized the advantages of AI and found ways to apply it in their operations. 75% of CEOs participating in IBM’s survey believe that AI helps increase the company’s competitiveness, 43% said they have sought the support of artificial intelligence when needing to make strategic decisions. 36% use AI to develop operational plans.

However, about 60% of businesses do not apply AI comprehensively in their operations. In other words, these units develop in the direction of viewing AI as an additional tool, added after the system has been completed, also known as Plus AI, or +AI.

“Plus AI is a model of applying artificial intelligence in individual departments or existing processes of the company, so it only brings short-term benefits,” said Ms. Pham Thi Thu Diep, General Director and Director of the company. Director of IBM Technology Vietnam, comments. “To scale up and effectively utilize AI, many businesses are tending to switch to the AI Plus model.”

With AI Plus (AI+), businesses build AI solutions before completing specialized departments, thereby turning artificial intelligence into a development center, creating a positive impact on all activities and services. necessary. According to IBM, AI+ solutions improve 40% of human productivity, solve 90% of problems arising from the customer care department, and handle 60% of software development requests thanks to the ability to automatically analyze data. integrate applications, create and convert programming code.

From this result, IBM assesses that moving to the AI+ model is already a technology trend and will continue to expand in 2024.

However, an IBM representative said that to perfect the AI+ model, businesses need to meet some more special requirements than the old model. First, they must empower and provide AI research teams with the tools to train, tune, and deploy machine learning models. In addition, these models also need to be designed to operate on a multi-cloud architecture, focusing on collecting and retrieving the business’s own data sources.

Second, businesses must soon build a data repository that is tightly managed but still allows AI access to learn and share content to serve operational processes. Finally, businesses need to create specific processes to make AI work in a transparent and responsible manner, thereby creating trust from employees in this tool.

“The AI Plus model will operate effectively when it adheres to three basic principles: AI is designed and used for the purpose of supporting human intelligence; ensuring data and information sources are always owned. of the host unit; the output content provided by AI must always be transparent and explainable,” said Patel.

This year, IBM introduced Watsonx – a data and artificial intelligence platform that supports building and refining machine learning models, helping to simplify company development towards AI Plus.

Besides the trend of shifting from +AI to a new model, IBM believes that by 2024 there will be four other major trends in the field of technology application in businesses, including human resources with experience working with AI. replace unskilled workers; Take advantage of large data warehouses; Applying AI to analyze data, increasing businesses’ ability to react to external fluctuations; Developing products and services towards an ecosystem.
